The spark for this plot came to me when I was 13 years old, almost 20 years ago. To see it end is both a relief and a bummer.

I'm not saying there won't be more stories in my world of Lyndaria, but if there are, it will definately be a NEW series, not a continuation of the Legends of Mynos. These Legends have come to a close. But there might be more adventures on the horizon, who knows? I don't have any more planned books in this world, but never say never, right? :P

THE WOLVERINE AND THE FLAME's release date is August 28th, and here is it's coming soon page:

http://www.samhainpublishing.com/coming/the-wolverine-and-the-flame

They should have the blurb up there any time now, and I'm still waiting for a cover. He enjoys getting the best of me. Seb has always been competitive, but this is taking things too far!

So I'm a man who wants to be in the company of a beautiful woman. Where's the harm in that? I truly do not understand why Seb feels the need to "protect" Jewel from me.

Well, there was that one incident with Lady Brighton, but I've sworn off popping into a woman's chamber unannounced. It's true! You'd think Sebastian didn't trust my sincerity.

Ah, but Jewel, she's a rare woman. A woman you don't find everyday. And I mean to get to know her better. Seb can try to thwart me all he wants. His demeanor is friendly enough, but I know better. The look in his eye gives him away. He wants me to stay far away from the beautiful woman he found on the fields surrounding the castle. Truth be told, I would have been the one to find Jewel on the fields if my horse hadn't broken it's leg that morning, the poor thing. I had asked Sebastian to go on the scout in my stead.

How's that for irony?

We shall see who gets the last laugh when Jewel chooses the man she'd rather spend her time with. Until then, I'll enjoy annoying my Captain by making doe eyes at the woman he fancies.

~~Sir Ethan of KreyBeckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32719184.post-78517033423449358532007-03-26T14:12:00.000-07:002007-03-26T14:12:47.226-07:00The Essence of Malnan

Finally, after all these years, I have returned to Mynos. I have lain dormant for many, many years, biding my time, hoping to journey back to Castle Templestone. That must be what's happening. I cannot be gazing at Malnan's Jewel after all these years!

My beautiful mate Malnan was killed on the battlefield during the original war for my Crystal. There was no trace of the gem she had created that day. But where did it go? Who's hands did it fall into? And why does this young girl who knows nothing of her past have it around her neck?

I must know for my own sanity. Malnan's death was the reason I encased myself in stone. Now that her talisman has been found, perhaps I can find the peace I crave so desperately.

And yet... When I touch the Jewel, I can feel something, a whisper of a presence. Could it be her gem is enchanted just as my Crystal? Perhaps if I try channeling into it...

~~Mynos the DragonBeckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32719184.post-32003901836233703662007-03-06T11:08:00.000-08:002007-03-06T11:08:04.852-08:00Who Am I?

Who am I? I have no memory of myself, no clue who I am, aside from this necklace I wear. It is a gold chain which holds a massive tear-shaped lavender jewel. You would think such a large gem would be heavy, but it is not. I do not know what my name is. The man who found me, Sir Sebastian, merely calls me "Jewel", after the necklace. At least it's a name--an identity.

But my feelings are out of control. I know I've only just met the Wolverine knight who saved my life, but he's all I can remember. I awoke, looking into his eyes, feeling his arms around me. I long to feel them around me again.

But how can I be sure I do not have a suitor waiting for me? How can I be certain there is no one else in my life? Sebastian has vowed to find the man who beat me so brutally. I shiver just thinking about it. That monster could be anyone, even someone within the walls of Castle Templestone!

Am I truly safe?

The only safety I feel is when I'm with Sir Sebastian. I'm not even sure I want to know who I used to be. No doubt I would have to leave the castle. The anger inside of me is welling up to the surface and it's hard for me to keep it tamped down. How can anyone beat a woman so badly you cannot see her features through her bruises? It disgusts me, and if I get my hands on the man responsible, I will kill him, no doubt.

Duncan and I found a woman on the fields near Castle Templestone, covered head to toe in bruises. She doesn't even know her own name! The only clue I have to her identity is a tear-shaped lavender jewel set in her necklace. I have been calling her "Jewel."

She asked me if I was an angel. My heart stopped. This poor woman thought she was dead!

Yes, I will make it my life's mission to find the bastard, the coward who did this to her and sink Fleetfire, my grandfather's sword, deep into his chest. Death is the least he deserves. I'll do whatever it takes to keep this woman away from him--no matter the cost.

~~Sir Sebastian of TabrinthBeckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32719184.post-81014433363907971042007-02-22T15:58:00.000-08:002007-02-22T15:58:52.609-08:00THE WOLVERINE AND THE JEWEL's CoverWe've all seen the beauty that is THE WOLVERINE AND THE ROSE's cover.

Now, sit back and enjoy the cover for the SECOND book in the Legends of Mynos series, THE WOLVERINE AND THE JEWEL, coming May 2007 to Samhain Publishing.

I am so in love with these covers, you don't even know. :) This book is about Sir Sebastian and his love story. Here's the blurb:

She doesn't know who she is or where she came from. But she knows she's in love with the man who found her.

From the moment the Wolverine knight, Sebastian, finds the unconscious, badly beaten woman he nicknames "Jewel", all he wants to do is protect her—no matter the cost.

Jewel wakes with no memory of who she is. The only clue to her identity is a lavender-colored jewel around her neck—a jewel which the dragon, Mynos, recognizes as the talisman made by his long-dead mate. Through the jewel's magic, they discover that the man who attacked Jewel is none other than her fiancé, Lord Merric.

Violent and ambitious, Merric was enraged when Jewel mysteriously vanished on the eve of their arranged marriage. Now, he'll do anything to force her to return. Even dark magic—or murder.

~*~

Here is the video for this book. Enjoy! I have feelings for Arianna that are far beyond brotherly. She's lost her entire family and she's crying out for someone to love, but I . . . I just can't. I am afraid of my own desires, afraid of being anything more than her protector.

Perhaps it has something to do with these strange, familiar feelings I get when I'm around her--as if I've known her my entire life. And yet, I know that's not true. I didn't meet her until I first saw her in Stollinshire. Every time we're close, all I want to do is protect her from the world and show her exactly what she means to me. But I'm too much of a coward. Imagine, a Wolverine knight, one of the King's Best, able to take on legions of men with his sword alone, afraid of one woman.

She is fully-grown, yet there is an innocence about her I do not want to spoil. If I told her I could walk on water, I do not doubt she would believe me. Her feelings for me are more than obvious, and it makes my resolve even harder to bear. Every day I wake up and wonder if I should give in, if I should tell Arianna what's truly in my heart. But every day I push her away, telling her she's like a sister to me.

I know I've broken her heart, on more than one occasion, and it's tearing away at my soul. I cannot stand it any longer. If I'm ever again alone with her, I do not believe I'll be able to hold back. At this point, I don't want to. I merely hope her gentle love can withstand my raging passion.

~~Sir Geoffrey of EmberdaleBeckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32719184.post-24605259615826513402007-01-29T11:58:00.000-08:002007-01-29T12:19:07.564-08:00Arianna's Lament

No matter how much I wish it to be otherwise, Sir Geoffrey of Emberdale does not love me. He sees me as nothing more than a sister, protecting me from the threat of the Dark Knights and bringing me to Castle Templestone, my new home.

I'm alone in this world. My family was brutally killed and I don't even know why. Before I even knew what happened, I was swept into this adventure. I know Geoffrey will never return my affections, but I can still remember his heated kiss, given to me on the streets of Stollinshire.

I do not know why he did it, perhaps to hide his face as the Dark Knights rushed past the alley he'd dragged me into. But his mouth was warm on mine, kissing me into oblivion, demanding my participation with his tongue. You can imagine the shock I felt at the time! However, kissing him felt so right, so natural. I don't know how to explain it. It's as if I've known Sir Geoffrey for all my life, but I'd never met him before that fateful day in the village.

I thought, perhaps, he would come to care for me as I care for him. Many nights I dream about that kiss, and about what it would be like to spend the night in Geoffrey's arms. I'm trembling even now at the thought. But no matter how many smiles I send his way or how many times I touch him, whether on purpose or on accident, he seems unaffected.

Will I find a man to love me? I feel so cold. So alone. I don't want any other man. I want Sir Geoffrey of Emberdale. But he does not want me.

~~Arianna of StollinshireBeckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32719184.post-86612049343629477832007-01-22T14:50:00.000-08:002007-01-22T14:58:11.543-08:00THE WOLVERINE AND THE ROSE ExcerptI've decided to regail you with an excerpt today from my book THE WOLVERINE AND THE ROSE, coming February 13th, 2007 to Samhain Publishing. This excerpt might be different in the final, edited version. Enjoy!

~*~

Arianna had stripped her hands of the oppressive white gloves and pulled her hair down from the emerald pins. Geoffrey turned to look at her and audibly sucked in his breath. Her auburn hair fell around her shoulders in a mass of unruly curls. Picking up the brush from the small table, she attempted to brush them out.

"No!" Geoffrey suddenly yelped, surprising her. He appeared surprised himself. "Don’t. Leave it."

Setting the brush down, Arianna smiled at him. "All right."

Slowly, like a predator tracking its prey, Geoffrey crossed the room until he was in front of her. Without a word, he lifted a hand to her face and caressed her cheek. His hand made its way through her riotous curls.

"So soft," he whispered.

Arianna put her hand on his arm as much for support as anything else. Her heart raced. She didn't know what he intended to do, but it only excited her more.

As if unable to hold back any longer, Geoffrey lowered his head and kissed her bare shoulders, sending shivers down her spine. He kissed his way to her neck where he softly nuzzled her beating pulse, burning her skin with his tongue.

Arianna's body trembled and she knew she wouldn't be able to stand for too much longer. But Geoffrey didn't stop his assault on her senses. Butterflies flew wildly in her stomach when his mouth trailed underneath her jaw.

"Arianna," he whispered between kisses, his breath burning her skin. "Tell me to stop. Push me away." He kissed her cheek and gazed into her eyes. Leaning his forehead against hers, he said, "I can't stop."

"Then don't," she whispered. Framing his face in both of her hands, Arianna kissed his mouth with a slow determination. Geoffrey's arms enfolded her, warming her from the sudden chill she felt. She let out a small cry of surprise when he darted his tongue into her mouth, but it was exquisite in its silken softness. She tentatively answered him with her own.

Arianna slowly curled her arms around his neck, never wanting his kiss to end. The man was melting her in his very arms. His hand began weaving itself in her hair, as if to pull her closer.

At one point, he pulled away from her, staring into her eyes with a pleading look.

"Geoffrey?" she whispered, stroking his hair away from his face.

"Damn," he mumbled before lowering his head once again.

~*~

THE WOLVERINE AND THE ROSE, Coming February 13, 2007 to http://www.SamhainPublishing.com!

~~BeckaBeckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32719184.post-47509249320659998562007-01-15T09:26:00.000-08:002007-01-15T09:58:19.037-08:00Interview with Mynos the Dragon

RG: Good evening, Mynos. Thank you for taking the time to sit down with us and chat.

M: Good eve, Daughter. It is my pleasure.

RG: Can you tell us a little about yourself?

M: What is it you’d like to know?

RG: Well, let’s start by asking how old are you?

M: **ponders** In my estimation, approximately four thousand years old.

RG: Wow, four thousand?

M: Indeed. However, I don’t look a day over two.

RG: **smiles** How’s that?

M: Ah that, Daughter, is something your readers must figure out on their own.

RG: Fair enough. I notice you are a gold dragon. Yet you are here with me in human form. How is that possible?

M: All dragons can shapeshift, Daughter. In fact, I can become any creature I can imagine. However, I have found that my true form and that of a human is all I have needed thus far. And yet, even my powerful magics cannot hide my true identity.

RG: Yes, I can see it from here. Your eyes aren’t normal . . . your pupils are slitted, not round. Like a cat’s eye.

M: Yes. And my golden hair shimmers in the light with all the colors of the rainbow, much like my scales when I’m in my true form.

RG: Let’s talk about Malnan for a moment. I know it’s a painful subject for you. Do you mind?

M: **sighs** Not at all, Daughter. I am not offended by questions of my mate. We must celebrate her life. She was a beautiful green dragon, the most stunning dragon I’d ever laid my eyes upon. I had my pick of any dragon maiden for my mate long ago, and I chose her, much to the shock of my brethren. Her magics weren’t too strong, and my peers believed I would have picked a mate with stronger abilities. But I wasn’t looking for power. I fell in love. Once we were bound as mates, not a single dragon mentioned it again. They respected my decision.

RG: Malnan was pregnant, was she not, when . . . ?

M: Yes.

RG: **clears throat** OK, well, let’s move on. Tell us about the kingdom of Lyndaria.

M: Lyndaria is a wondrous place. There are two large mountain ranges. One is the King’s Mountains to the west, and the Mountains of the Night, to the east.

RG: Named so after their pitch black soil, am I correct?

M: Yes. The sand of the mountains is black.

RG: Yet I’ve heard it said that those mountains were renamed the Dragon’s Death Mountains.

M: **raises brow** Indeed.

RG: **coughing uncomfortably** Yes, well, what can you tell us of Castle Templestone?

M: The castle is a fortress, built on the very top of sheer cliffs that rise up from the coast of the Silver Sea. It was built on the foundations of an old temple, built to honor me, about three thousand years ago. But the temple soon fell to ruin. It was King Timothy himself, the first true king of Lyndaria, the man who united the Four Realms, who decided to build his castle there, befriending me in the process. The first stone he laid as the cornerstone of his castle was a stone from the ruined temple. In fact, that stone resides now in the wall of the fortress’s chapel. That is how the castle obtained its name.

RG: What are the “Four Realms”, exactly?

M: The Four Realms of Lyndaria is simply north, south, east, and west. Each realm used to be ruled separately, by different rulers, however King Timothy, when he ascended the throne, actually had blood from all four realms flowing in his veins. The people wanted unity, and thus the rulers of these realms swore fealty to him, and Lyndaria became one united empire.

RG: Can you tell us about your Crystal?

M: It is a talisman that bonds itself to the person wielding it. It magnifies a person’s own magical ability and makes them hundreds of times stronger than they would be on their own.

RG: Wow, that sounds powerful.

M: It is indeed, Daughter. I created it as a tool, to teach people of magic and learn of the dragons.

RG: How did you create it?

M: I consecrated the body of my slain sister, Estriel.

RG: Consecrated?

M: Yes. I magically concentrated all of her magic and essence down into a gem, what happens when any dragon’s body is consecrated. Depending on the color of the dragon, that is the color of the gem their bodies create. Estriel was a beautiful silver dragon, and thus, she became my Crystal.

RG: So blue dragons would become sapphires and greens would become emeralds?

M: **nodding** Indeed, Daughter.

RG: What kind of gem would you make, Mynos?

M: **smiles wryly** I do not know. I am not yet dead.

RG: True enough. Can you tell us of the Isle of Dragons?

M: That is the birthplace of all dragonkind.

RG: And it is somewhere in the Silver Sea?

M: Yes.

RG: Can anyone go there?

M: Anyone can, however, only dragons can find it. The Isle is hidden from mortals by magic. They can only find it if they are accompanied by a dragon.

RG: So all your females go there to lay their eggs?

M: Yes. There were some dragons who questioned the old traditions of making the journey out there. But I do not personally know of any dragon who did not lay their eggs on the Isle.

RG: Is there a reason for it?

M: Dragonlore, nothing more, Daughter. We believe that the island is the birthplace to the Father of Dragons, the very first one of our kind to fly in the sky. So to hatch our young wyrmlings there is honoring him.

RG: **nods** That’s fascinating. Mynos, I’d like to thank you once again for talking with us, and letting us get to know you a little better. I’m looking forward to the release of the first novel in The Legends of Mynos on February 13th, and I know you are as well.

M: Yes, Daughter, very much so. And the prequel to the series is already available for download.

RG: To learn more about Mynos and the kingdom in which he lives, don’t miss The Legends of Mynos, the newest, epic, fantasy romance series to be published by Samhain Publishing. The prequel to this trilogy, THE CRYSTAL OF MYNOS, is a Free Read and can be downloaded at:

http://www.rebeccagoings.com/books/paranormal/wolvcrystal.html

Beckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32719184.post-20507645376983921502007-01-04T23:01:00.000-08:002007-01-04T23:02:32.176-08:00Unveiling of THE WOLVERINE AND THE ROSE's Cover! If you haven't seen it yet around the 'Net, sit back and bask in the beauty of this cover. :)

~~BeckaBeckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32719184.post-10519763905620110382007-01-01T23:40:00.000-08:002007-01-02T08:39:07.175-08:00Character Profile ~ Sir Nathan of Emberdale

Character Profile: Sir Nathan of Emberdale

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Hazel

Status: Wolverine Knight

Sword: Whiteflame

Age: 25

History:

Sir Nathan of Emberdale is childhood friends with Sir Geoffrey of Emberdale. They both grew up in the same town, and had fathers who were both in the Order of the Wolverine. While Sir Geoffrey decided to live a descrete life, it is known far and wide Sir Nathan has his way with many a woman.

He is a charming man, one who is known for disarming many an unsuspecting maid and making a sport of it. He is not uncaring, but rather loves the fairer sex, believing he should take advantage as a prestigious knight of the king by jumping on any opportunity that may present itself. Sir Nathan has a string of broken hearts behind him longer than anyone can measure, and to Sir Geoffrey's disgust, tries to woo the women hanging on the arms of other men.

Perhaps Sir Nathan is vain beyond measure, being told by many a woman his charm and wit were second to none. Or perhaps he is supremely insecure, scared of true intimacy and therefore shunning it in favor of wild romps.

Whatever his reasoning, he is a rake to be sure. Keep your daughters under lock and key when Sir Nathan of Emberdale is in your village.

Quote of Note:

“You can’t hold on to her forever, my friend!” ~~Sir Nathan of Emberdale
Beckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32719184.post-1166809004266737322006-12-22T09:36:00.000-08:002006-12-22T09:36:45.056-08:00Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone! She was first born and Crown Princess in the royal house of the elves, but fell in love with a human Wolverine, Sir Darryn of Winterborne. At the time, relations between elves and humans were strained at best. Kendra was first in line for the elven throne, as the elves do not believe in passing over the daughters in favor of the sons.

However, her father, King Leopold, demanded she forsake her beloved and rule the elves as she was meant to do. Kendra refused.

Turning her back on her people, she did the unthinkable--abdicating her throne to her younger brother Kaas for the love of a human. King Leopold couldn't fathom why his daughter turned on her own kind for a mere human, but respected her decision, by banishing her from the elven kingdom.

Kendra left and never looked back. She married Sir Darryn and bore him a son, Rowan, a half-elf. Darryn himself was shunned for marrying an elf, but he didn't care. He did not live at Castle Templestone, but rather, had a post in his hometown of Winterborne. Kendra became well-known and loved by the locals.

When Darryn died, it is said Kendra was heartbroken, weeping on his tombstone for days at a time. Elves have a longer lifespan than humans do, but she has not been seen since her husband's death. There have been stories that she has died as well, however, those accounts cannot be verified.

Quote of Note:

"I love Darryn with all of my heart. Sir Benjamin had been almost like a son to the old king, reminding him of his deceased son, Prince Ormond. The boy's heart was good and just--exactly what the kingdom of Lyndaria needed.

It had taken the newly-crowned King Benjamin some time to adjust to his new royal status. He'd always been nothing more than a mere Wolverine, and often you could find him in the king's study with his sword, Brightflame, around his waist. He was never one to shy away from adversity, but meet it head on--from the battlements of Castle Templestone if he had to.

This quality about him made King Benjamin much beloved by his subjects and fellow Wolverines. The current kings of Lyndaria have all been descended from Benjamin, including King Brennan himself. It is said King Benjamin had been a good friend of the dragon Mynos and was saddened when Mynos decided to leave Lyndaria after the war for his Crystal decimated dragonkind. But the dragon assured the king he would come back if ever Lyndaria needed him again.

Because he loved the golden dragon, Benjamin vowed his people would never turn their backs on the memory of the majestic dragons that had once flown in the skies of Lyndaria. He erected a few monuments in their honor, even going so far as to make sure every family in the kingdom knew the story of Mynos and the war for his Crystal. However, now that many centuries have passed, these stories have descended into nothing more than myth, as no one in Lyndaria believes dragons truly existed.

King Benjamin lived a long, happy life, and it is whispered his final words were, "Never forget."

Quote of Note:

“You will not be forgotten, Mynos. I will see to that.” ~~King Benjamin of Lyndaria

Beckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32719184.post-1164089806197945952006-11-20T21:59:00.000-08:002006-11-20T23:27:37.973-08:00History of Lyndaria ~ Sir Vincent of Westchester

Character Profile: Sir Vincent of Westchester

Hair Color: Auburn

Eye Color: Light Brown

Status: A Knight from the Order of the Wolverine

Age: 29

Sword: Flashblaze (enchanted by the Crystal of Mynos)

History:

Sir Vincent of Westchester is the only knight in the Order of the Wolverine to betray his king. Lured by the promise of power and wealth by the dragon Iruindyll, Sir Vincent stole the Crystal of Mynos from Castle Templestone, knowing full well King Timothy would die without it's magical aura. No one had dared steal the Crystal before, therefore there was no security surrounding it. Sir Vincent merely strode out of the castle with the talisman in his pocket.

It wasn't long after, however, the dragon Mynos realized what had been done when a magical shockwave struck him so hard, he fell from the sky. His Crystal was screaming.

It is unknown how Sir Vincent rallied an entire army of mages to fight Mynos and the rest of dragonkind. But the battle which ensued was unlike any other battle Lyndaria has ever known. Every single magic user in Sir Vincent's army had learned how to harness their powers through the Crystal all at once, and the magic they wielded was unfathomable. Since the Crystal of Mynos amplifies a user's magical ability, having the entire army channeling through it made them near invincible.

The entire population of Lyndaria's dragons died that day in the Mountains of the Night--all but Mynos. Not even his mate Malnan had been spared. Sir Vincent had forgotton one simple fact--due to an enchantment placed upon it, the Crystal can never be used to harm it's creator. Mynos was the only dragon who shrugged off the army's attempts to bring him down.

Many have speculated as to what truly happened on the battlefield that day, as Mynos has never spoken of it. But there is one thing we do know for certain. The dragon returned to Castle Templestone with his Crystal--alone.

Sir Vincent did not return.

The Mountains of the Night were renamed the Dragon's Death Mountains due to this bloody battle, the coal-black soil a seeming testament to the majestic dragons who once flew the skies of Lyndaria. Since this catastrophe occurred, it is whispered Mynos enchanted his Crystal once again, so only the hand of a woman could touch it and live. The Crystal would remember Sir Vincent's treachery and exact its revenge upon any man who dared lay their hand upon it.

Sir Vincent's enchanted sword was never recovered, and there have been no Wolverines in the king's service from Westchester ever since.

Quote of Note:

"No. Please. Mynos, I beg of you, have mercy!" ~~Sir Vincent of Westchester
Beckahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09591963226430102010noreply@blogger.com0
